Original Drawing
Working Drawing
I traced over my original drawing using the paintbrush tool and added a line down the back to show the placement of the zip. The curved lines are to show the stitch lines for the free hand embroidery. To improve, next time I would add dashed lines to show more stitch lines.
I created my own digital illustration using Adobe Illustrator. I used tools such as the paint brush, zoom, eraser, and eyedropper. I used a photo for inspiration and I like the overall effect including the shading and accuracy. To improve next time I would add more shadow to the dress and hair to give the illustration more definition.
Inspiration
I added a collar, created my own buttons using the shape tool and the copied and pasted them a, added style line and changes and reselected some of them and changed them into dashed lines to show stitch lines.

I created a new document on Adobe Illustrator and placed a female croqui in to the page and locked the layer.I then create a guide in the centre of the drawing and then locked the guide to the guide. The then used the pen tool (choose the stroke, colour and fill).I created the left side of the body first and then the arm. I then unlocked the layers except the croqui and reflected the shape.
Made the brush to 0.15 pt because the illustrator uses thin lines.
I placed the original image into Adobe Illustrator, then turned the opacity down to 50% so I was able to see the outline of the image and trace it. I created a second layer and called it the outline layer.I used the paint brush tool to draw the outline and corrected my mistakes with the eraser tool. Also the select tool to extend the strokes. After I was happy with the details and outline I created a new layer called Colour where I used the Blob tool to fill in the space in colour. I also used the shape tool to insert the spots.

My Version
She is an artist, designer and fashion illustrator. She uses materials like acrylic paint, ink, water colour and mixed media to create her pieces.
Mainly in an abstract style using thin curving lines with slight shading.
Chanel Spring/Summer 2012
Non realistic proportions of the figure makes it look abstract. Uses basic/ neutral tones, using darker colours to create shade and lighter colours to show how the hits the figure. The the white garment is the main focus of the illustration because it is set onto a coloured background making the white standout. I like this piece because of how simple and aesthetically pleasing it is.
Chloe Spring/Summer 2012
Acrylic Ink on paper
A British illustrator and designer who has collaborated with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Versace, Mulberry and Marc Jacobs.
She uses pencil, acrylic and poster paint.
Her illustrations are often very colourful and abstract.
In British Vogue For Gucci
She uses bold colours for the background and the garments (the contrasting so the garments still stand out from the background). The brushstrokes on the green headscarf creates an idea motion and dimensions. With pencil used for the faces withe simple facial expressions to bring attention to the garments. It looks like acrylic paint and pencil was used to produce this illustration with fine liner to accentuate details.
A Portuguese fashion illustration. He creates beautifully detailed hand-drawn illustrations using water colour and paint. that evoke a sense of love & romance. His work includes mostly floral and feminine imagery. He has worked with brands like Omega, Mappin & Webb ,Joyce , Dolce & Gabbana and Pull & Bear.
He uses a lot of white space in his illustration to create a simple look with a focus and uses mainly bold colours on the garments rather than the faces.
Fendi
I like the smudging effect created by the mix of the black and white water colour. I like the simple colour palette as well as it creates a contrast which shows of the garment and bag.
Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2015
I like the simplicity of this illustration and the colours used. And how the focus is brought to the flowers with a simple image of the figure in the background.
I placed the original image into Adobe Illustrator, then turned the opacity down to 50% so I was able to see the outline of the image and trace it. I created a second layer and called it the outline layer.I used the paint brush tool to draw the black outline and used a smaller brush for the details.I then locked the outline layer so that when I was colouring in , it would not go over the lines. I corrected my mistakes with the eraser tool. Also the select tool to extend the strokes. After I was happy with the details and outline I created a new layer called Colour where I used the Blob tool to fill in the space in colour.
I liked the intricate detail and colours used for the details on the shirts.
To improve I would next time add shading to the faces to add definition.

I think illustration was successful because the I think the outline and shapes were accurate and replicated the original lines.
I think it could have been improved by the colouring in being neater.
